Physician Assistant: South Florida
Joshua Deschaine, MMS, PA-CCertified Physician Assistant
Joshua Deschaine, MMS, PA-C joined the team at the Joint Replacement Institute in September of 2015. Josh performs duties typical of an orthopaedic physician assistant including; office visits, pre and post-operative history and physical exams, ordering and interpreting diagnostic testing, joint injections, hospital rounding, and assisting Dr. Wallace or Dr. Biggs in surgical procedures.
A Fort Myers, Florida native, Josh received a Bachelor of Science in Biology/Microbiology at Florida Gulf Coast University. During his time at FGCU he also became certified as an Emergency Medical Technician at Edison State College. He later attended Nova Southeastern University in Fort Myers where he received a Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies. Over the years spent in Southwest Florida, Josh has grown a tremendous love for the outdoors. A former wildlife tour guide in Lover’s Key State Park, Josh enjoys spending his time on the water fishing, kayaking, free-diving, and snorkeling. He is also a bow hunter of whitetail deer, backpacker, hiker, and survivalist. Josh is an avid sports fan, with particular enjoyment found in football, baseball, and mixed martial arts. He remains very active in his church, Mcgregor Baptist Church in Fort Myers, volunteering and providing medical care overseas on medical mission trips.
